you too?

things are quite a bit different over here, alot less minraising going on.

oh, and the hand looks perfect. (except that I would lead at that pot w a minraiser).

sucks that he had AA.

I take it you were beat by AA. Sucks, you are't going to escape that ... you don't have enough money to. One of those cases where you're all-in before you realize you're drawing to 1 out.

I'd like to convince myself that I be able to get away from this, but I don't see any way unless both players were pretty deep or I had a sick read on the guy.

Although I think in retrospect, the mini-raise preflop + the weak lead reraise on the flop gives away his hand. If this was on Stars I probably fold given the same action.

How many times do I have to explain this, fish: AAA >> 777?

Seriously, though, I would need way more respect for my opponents to lay down a set. Yes, they will overplay TPTK or 2 pair, even at higher stakes.

Also, if you were playing against me or forrest, you know this is a turbo muck, right? We would clearly have quads.

thanks for the replies guys. i actually thought i played the hand pretty well, but stepped back and realized that this was the same line i would've taken in a limit game and got a little worried about how i was adjusting back to nl.

he did wind up having top set, but i still think i make money calling down in this spot, although i'm not entirely sure calling is better than pushing the flop, perhaps if the board was more draw-heavy pushing would be better. i didn't want to give him a chance to get away from 22 or a2s or whatever other crap he minraised with preflop, but i don't know that he would have dropped anyway.

revealing how i play big hands vs. princeton kids here would be massively -ev, but whatever line i took would require a lot more thinking than playing against an unknown on party.

edit: replace "princeton kids" with "sketchy grad students"......

Played perfectly. However, why not play $100 NL if you are rusty?

Poor ed.
