Default Vegas Daily Tournies

Probably not the best place to post this, but I am not getting any feedback on B&M, so I thought I would give it a go here. Anyways, I am going to be in Vegas Thursday-Sunday. I was wondering what daily tournies people would recommend to play there? All buy-ins and formats are good with me. Thanks in advance.

I've played a few (lower buy-in) that have pretty bad structure but I like the ones at the Sahara. 11am, 7pm, and 11pm, $42 entry, one $20 rebuy or addon. Start off with 80 big blinds and they dont go up too fast. There's usually over 100 people in the 7pm and 80-100 in the 11 pm one.

If buyin isnt a problem, then you should look no further than the Bellagio.

Sahara takes an obscene rake.

The same is the case for The Orleans.

If you're not scared of SnGs I strongly recommend playing the morning satellites (from 9AM) for the 2 PM tournament at Bellagio. They award two seats in each satellite plus cash. The buy in is (pardon me if my memory is $5 off) $120 for the $500 + $40 tournament (Mon thru Thur), and $240 for the $1,000 + $60 tournament (Fri thru Sun).

There's a substantial element of luck to these satellites:
First time I played I arrived just in time to see the last seat fill in a sat; while the dealer was washing the deck, 3 young guys in colorful shirts seated at the table ordered double-size tropical drinks from the waitress (it was around 10:30 AM). Juicy.

Next thing I got seated at a table with 4 locals, 2 pros and a couple of rocky oldtimers. Great.

Anyway, the next three I played were really soft, and I won seats in two of them (one being a $1,000) - without any sweat. Stacks are deeep, but people just have to gamble it up way before there's any need to.

Best,

McMelchior (Johan)

I like the Orleans tournies quite a bit.
I think they have very good structures for the price.
And a lot of the players are awful.

I played in the Sahara one last time I was in Vegas, found it to be a pretty good tournament. And even though I was 100% donk at the time, I finished just barely out of the money. Certainly would have cashed if I knew 10% of what I know now.

Get the latest issue of cardplayer magazine for free at your local casino... In the back there is a list of tournaments they have daily.
