Consider whether AJ is good enough to go broke with.

Would you have called the PF raisor if he had opened all-in on the flop? A pot size bet from him would commit 40% of his chips, so - though not optimal play - it wouldn't be totally unreasonable if he did.

If the answer is "yes" you're bound to go broke (or near broke) with this hand.

When you decide to CR the flop you've already decided to risk all of your chips - before you have any information about your opponent's reaction to the flop.

An alternative would be to bet the flop - like T400 - and gauge your opponents reaction.

Again, this only makes sense if you're willing to fold to a raise or check/fold if he calls and bets the turn.

After posting the BB you still have 25 BBs left, plenty or room to wiggle. Your PF call is to some extent read-dependable. If the PF raisor is an aggro I think it's fine, but you have to keep in mind what kind of flop you would like. An J hi flop is highly preferable to an Ace hi flop.

If you're willing to risk your stack with AJ on a A hi flop you will be shown better hands frequently.

Best,

McMelchior (Johan)

you could bet out on the flop and fold to a raise though he'll probably just call you down and bet when you check.

What has this opponent frequently raised with? If he has consistently shown down AK or AQ when raising, I would be a little worried about this hand.

Instead of check-raising all-in here, I put out a bet about 2/3 the size of the pot here and see what his reaction is. If he comes back over the top I'm worried about AK, AQ, or a set.

AJ is a troublesome hand, and when someone raises preflop and you are behind them, you are definately looking for a Jack-high flop.
