Unless this guy is a complete retard

Once again, I'm getting tired of the word 'retard' being used to describe opponents. Some people are born developmentally disabled. They can't help it. Please stop.

So if you chop most of the time and win even 75% of the times you don't, then why *wouldn't* you put your money in? If you 3bet push, he's committed with A-7 or 77 here

Villain here is chopping with you like 80% of the time, another 10-15% of the time he has the nuts. Sometimes he has worse, and sometimes of those sometimes he calls your 3bet push, most of the time he folds.

Just call here, pushing is -EV.

I checked the turn in hopes for a check/raise, bad idea.

I played the flop really scared for some reason ... dont ask me why, but I gave others a chance to catch up and I made my hand.

I weakly called the min-raise and villain had ace 7

Obviously you can disagree, but I think at these stakes, the villian is committed to the hand with A7 or a set. I would think he has one of these worse hands more often than 56, since that is the only hand that beats you (and is much less likely to have, based purely on odds).

If villain has a 5 or 56 he would bet something on the turn. No way he gives a free pass for someone to boat up or hit a back door flush. If he plays the nuts this poorly then I make a note and get my money back later. Not 3-betting the river is missing a lot of upside with very little risk of ruin.

Having pocket 5's makes me think a 3 bet is pretty good. If you only had one of the 5's I call. There is only 1 hand that can beat you and there is only 1 live card available. I agree with 3 bet. I dont like the push though. Make it easy to call with second best hand.
