Default 55 in the BB

Here's a hand I found while looking over my weekend's play that seemed interesting. What's your move on the flop, and what's your plan for the rest of the hand?

SB seems to be a decent player, while MP1 definitely isn't.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5s, 5c.
2 folds, MP1 calls, 3 folds, SB raises, Hero calls, MP1 calls.

Flop: (6 SB) 4h, 9h, 2c (3 players)
SB bets, Hero...

Heads up against SB, I think you could probably continue in this hand. I would probably raise and see what SB did. You would be a big favourite if SB held overcards, but way behind if he held a higher pair.

However with MP1 still in the hand it becomes less encouraging to stay in the hand. MP1 could have any 2 cards and might call with anything. So you would not know whether MP1 had top pair, a different pair, a flush or straight draw, or nothing if he called.

If you thought that you could drive MP1 out with a raise, then I think it would be worthwhile to do so. Otherwise with few outs I would fold your hand to SB's flop bet.

I'd say raise, try to drive out MP1. If you can get rid of MP1, bet a reasonably safe turn card (anything under a T, non-H, make a judgement call on broadway cards). If SB calls turn and checks river, probably just check behind, unless you hit a 5 or backdoor str8.

You are ahead of a great part of SBs raising hands (Ak-AT, KQ,Kj,QJ) and are very likely ahead of MP1. Raise.

for those folding: you shouldn't have called his preflop bet then. this is one of the best flops you could see other than getting a 5. you're ahead of a ton of hands here.

I need to be more assertive; I was thinking the same thing. There's only one overcard on board, which is not one of the cards you often see in raising hands, yes there are two hearts, but there are other suits in the deck too. I realize if we have the best hand, everyone has outs, but that's why we have to raise, in my mind.

Even though I advocate raising this flop I do not think this advice is correct. You immediately get 6-1 pot odds and will flop a set 1 time out of 8.5 (am I right?). Including implied odds any pp is worth a call for set value alone here.
