Poetic Justice
I was playing Intercasino 2/4 last night and got a bit of justice after an extreme suckout. I'd been at the table for about 10 minutes and dind't know any of the players.
In CO-1 and get JJ. There's enough limpers that I choose to just limp (I often don't raise PF with JJ). 5 (or so) to the flop. Flop 743r. Cool now I can get aggressive. EP bets and I raise. One other call and EP calls. I consider that I'm up against a set, 2 pr, probably not a made straight because he didn't come back at me. I start chanting for a J. Turn J![743] Yeah baby. EP bets again (hmmmm...) I raise and he just calls (other player folds). His stop and go is making me a little more worried about a made straight. So I chant for the board to pair River 3![J743] Bingo! EP bets I raise, EP 3-bets (If you got both 3s, then show me!) I cap. He does have both 3s! The card I liked so much was his 1 outer! LOL He drags about a $70 pot. (Don't try to add up the bets, I wasn't focused on when and where the other players folded out.) This was very early in the session so it didn't bug me too much (Though I was grumbling about my crappy luck) Anyways about 45 mins later I'm on the button and get 33. One of the blinds raised and there's about 6 to the flop. Flop 835. Yeah baby. Raiser opens, most call, I raise (the board was too coordinated to mess with waiting for the turn to wake up). All call (who called the first bet). Turn 3![835] Woo hooo come to papa..... Raiser opens again, most callers call so I decide to pump it while there's so much action (There's a flush draw on the board, besides the straight draw) and get 2 bets from most of the players. River 2[3835] which fills in the flush draw (and puts a possible straight flush on the board, which would have been good since IC has a bad beat jackpot). This probably made the raiser check. It checks to me I bet and get a handfull of callers (including the guy who had the quad 3s earlier). MHIG! Drug in about a $100 pot and appreciated that the poker gods made a quick turn-around on my previous bad beat. The game can be real fun when the cards run both ways.
