Cant seem to get any work done (Rant)
Here i am sitting at work
Just got the phone w/ a friend..... We had went to Atlantic City to play in some USPC events... This was my first experience w/ high dollar tourneys but he has played several.... I had to leave on Monday to come back to work He stayed since he makes a living playing online poker (he is only 21, his name is Eric Crain, if you dont know it now you will soon) Anyway he stays and buys into main event I have been watching updates on cardplayer and he is 7th in chips w/ 27 to go... He just called and told me Mehn the Master took him to dinner last night for lobster He says he has an ESPN interview in 15 minutes, and the cameras have been all over him this week And I am sitting here at work like I always do Wondering what if.... More importantly what am I doing working a 40 hour job What if I had been more aggressive moving up limits as he did and dedicated more hours..... Am I missing an opportunity by working my job? I am just numb I am not saying I belong in his class because I dont, but I do make a good amount from poker in the small amount of time I dedicate to it Just wondering if I am screwing up, or "Missing the bus" to bigger and better things Thanks for listening to my rant Prob wont be getting much work done today |

Re: Cant seem to get any work done (Rant)
I know what you mean though, it definitely sucks to be sitting at work while people are out there playing cards on TV for millions of dollars. It's where any MTT player wants to be, most of us just take our shots at online qualifiers and maybe make it a few times to a live main event but it's really rare to get all the way to the money and on TV. At least if he wins, you'll be getting some free drinks soon.

don't quit your job, play recreationally.
your friend is a one in a million shot to make millions of dollars playing televised tournaments. |

Re: Cant seem to get any work done (Rant)
From Cardplayer:
After a flop of 6h-5h-5s, Steve Brecher moves all in, and he's called by Eric Crain. Brecher shows pocket sevens (7h-7s) for an overpair, while Crain has Ah-Kh (flush draw, overcards). The last two cards are 3d-2c, and Brecher's pair holds up to win the hand, and he doubles up in chips. |
