Default Poker\'s always funner when you catch runner-runner

This post has little value other than pure entertainment.

It's about the worst bad beat I ever DISHED OUT, which occurred last night at the MGM 4-8 limit hold'em.

Three limpers and I limp on the button with 33. Blinds come along, no raise.

Flop 9 6 6 two tone. Checked around. I decide to bet. This might have been foolish, in hindsight, but stay tuned...

One caller.

Turn a trey. Check, I bet, call.

River a TREY. Check, I bet, he raises, I reraise.

He had 69 and flopped the boat.

I hang my head in shame as I stack the chips. I am forced to pay penance by giving the dealer an extra $2 tip, on top of my initial $2 tip.

So here's the poll...

None of the above.... your opponent is a fool, he let you draw out like a Magoo. What does he expect? He deserves to go up against quads.... that my friend is no bad beat!

Yeah, I'll go along with that. He flops a boat and... checks?

Ok, I can see a checkraise, but he didn't?

Ok, maybe he was waiting for the bet size increase on the turn. But he checks?

You didn't suck out. He blew.

It was a very checky kind of game. Except for myself and two others, everyone else in the game wouldn't bet anything at all. Top pair, queen kicker, that's a CHECK of course. Make a straight, check-call. As I said, the games have been very good at MGM. Saturday I think I'll play 6-12 again, or maybe 10-20.

How come super-mega-magoo isn't an option?

I think one of the poll options should be "Bill Fillmaff's opponent."

Well buddy,
This guy played my favorite starting hand. 69. You can never lose with 69...unless of course you run into the nuts.....
.. like this guy did.

You should ask him how it tasted, lol.

You can't fold if he doesn't bet or raise...

Not a suck-out.
