most people say 20 buy ins, so $1000.

$400-500 if you know you can beat the game

start smaller if you can stand it, and dont multitable at first

if youre making good decisions and have a good win rate then move up

also read some literature

Use "search function" (tip : try "FAQ" there).
I think its time to stick "newcomer guide to internet forum + FAQ" I see more and more posts of this kind recently.

Best wishes

also read up on implied odds and stack sizes with regards to no-limit. It's very different from limit. Here are some articles:
stack sizes
Pot Odds, Implied Odds, and Reverse Implied Odds
Reverse Implied Odds

all the articles and essays on those sites can be found, word for word, in Sklansky's hold em books.

Which ones?

I checked the two Hold'em Books by Sklansky I have (HEFAP and SSHE), yes, they all follow a similar format (Pot Odds > Implied Odds > Reverse Implied Odds), and the information is similar, as may be expected, but not word-for-word.

They had the 1980 WSOP with Ungar and Brunson as an example of implied odds, which was in the Implied Odds chapter of TOP and as I was searching around different articles, I know I had seen them in SKlansky books, be it more from TOP or other books, but they looked familiar. The articles are good reading, but I would rather just get the books.
