There are times when you can actually fold a pocket pair preflop. Honestly, I'd rather have any other hand besides 22...especially if I'm relatively shortstacked

Folding is for people who continue to be satisfied with a 30% ROI, and a $6 hourly rate

Joeboe, a reply like that not only shows that you are a novice without the knowledge of simple concepts, but you are also immature enough to call people that actually know what they are talking about "losers". I'm sorry that there are generally understood concepts that the simple-minded may not comprehend (and this one even the simple-minded understand), but if anything, I guarantee most of the guys advocating a push with any two here are much more EV+ in MTT's than you for just understanding that concept. The two's are an easy push here. Oh and, sure you may be called, and sure you may have the worst of it, but in certain situations it is +EV to push any two cards. Hope I wasn't too harsh, but ignorance bothers me.

You know you are going to be called. You know that anyone who calls you is going to have at worst two over cards.

Fold. You may not get something better. But, then again, you might.

How well do you perform in MTTs? Just curious.

I'm guessing he has a 80% ITM, 35% final table, 1234789247592873429834% ROI

Default A twist to this thread..What if he had AK?

Okay we can see this is a post where most people say push and some people say fold. What should he do if he has AK? Do you guys all also so push ALL IN? AK is a little weaker (heads up) but is stronger if a pair calls.

AK is a much easier push, because you are behind wayyyy less often and ahead muchhhhhh more often. AQ, perhaps AJ, and even weaker aces may call here, short stack may call the push with a dominated Ace, and many strong PP's that have to call will be coin flipping with you.

Whatever you say.

I will always see indiscriminately pushing any two as surrendering.

My online MTT results are horrible, I admit, unless you include the 2 or 3 table SNGs. Live, I am 50% ITM, but that is only 2 tries.

Maybe I will learn some day.
