Default common situation with KK, what do you do?

PP 1/2 Full Ring game

You are dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in the BB.

MP+2 open raises to 6$, folded around to you, you make it 25$ to go, MP+2 calls. You both have 200$. No reads on MP+2.

Flop comes A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Whats the plan?

Thanks,
Dommer

Bet and fold to a raise.

Ok cool, I bet 40 and he folded. So checking is definitely bad here... but what do you do if you are called? Personally I would shut down and fold to any decent bet unless I hit the spade draw and he gives me odds.

Check fold if he calls. If he checks behind, I'm likely check/calling the river.

Bet - its more likely that he has a pair than an Ace. Lead for about 35-40. If you are called/raised then the hand is over, for you unless the magic K appears.

Remember the range that he puts you on includes big Aces.

Of course, theres a big disadvantage with betting the flop. He is calling if he has an ace and folding if he does not, so you make nothing more when you have the best hand. Betting the flop gets you valueable information though. I'm mostly betting this flop, but will sometimes check here to mix it up. By checking, I've put myself in a situation were I have a very difficult hand to play, but perhaps more +EV than if I'm betting out.

And of course, you will often fold the best hand if you check, and still pay off a better one whatever he feels comfortable taking from you.

This is true - but how many times do I check/call in order to find out if my hand is good ? And the board is hardly drawless.
