Default Empire VIP club?

Is this right? The Empire VIP page says you earn points at a rate of squareroot your number of raked hands. Apparently this is independent of the level you play at. Since you need 5000 hands to quality for VIP status, that implies you'd need to play 25 million raked hands to qualify.

Am I reading that wrong?

You could make it in 5000 raked if you just played 1 per day.

I wonder if Empire will even be around in 13 years.

They would likely bump you after 7 or 8 years

So technically you could make VIP club playing .5/1 or 25NL with 5000 raked hands a day if you played for 70.71067811 or 71 days rounding up.

Sometimes they will 'bump' you to VIP status. Basically after you get to 1k points or so they will sometimes just say that you have been 'promoted' and give you another 4k points to get you to VIP.
But there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how they do this (some 2+2'ers have more points and haven't been bumped...others get lucky and get bumped after 3 days sometimes so it would seem).

5000 raked hands a day at those limits would probably be something like 7k or more actual hands (because of the number of hands that are unraked).

good luck with that!!

more common might be 1k raked hands (perhaps 1200 to 1400 actual hands depending on what limit you're at) for 33 points in a day.

As we've mentioned previously, the MTT's are a MUCH faster way to earn points if you play the small ones.

10 MTT's squared is 100 points....plus points for the entry-fees is another 30 or 40 points or so.

Once you get to 5k points your e-points are doubled.

When I was at 13k points I wanted to just finish it off at get to 15k (royal flush club).
You get a free $100/month (no raked-hands requirement) on your first $1k deposit of the money...and you are still eligible for the regular bonuses that everyone else gets.
You also get a nice watch...but I wanted the free $100/mth.

Anyway, I played a few days of 20-25 MTT's each day.
Since I was already VIP I was getting double points.

20 MTT's = 20 squared plus the entry-fees.
That's 400 plus about 100 or so. Double that for 1000.

Yup, that's 1000 points in a day.

At 25 MTT's you're looking at close to 1500 points in a day.

This is a LONG marathon of MTT's though (and only 9+1's and up qualify evidently).

I got about 9k points that month without even trying very hard...and eventually finished off the rest to get to 25k points for the free TV (which is a very nice 27" TV btw worth about $450 retail...I'm watching the Cubs and Giants in extra-innings on it right now).

I've been pretty lazy at Empire since then though. For obvious reasons I am preferring to playu on a different skin and I don't have THAT much drive to get to 50k points for the LCD monitor for the time-being.

So I got to 25k points 2 or 3 months ago I think.
And now I stand at a whopping 25.8k points.

Great info in your post MicroBoB. However, I'm just a lowly 1/2 ring game player, so I guess I'll see you in 13 years lol.

I just got bumped this weekend and I have only been playing 1/2 on Empire lately. I had about 1500 points.
