Final Pot: t775 This was the hand that ruined my table image, I wanted to push on the river, but was afraid he'd fold: PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (9 handed) converter UTG (t1250) UTG+1 (t1240) MP1 (t1150) MP2 (t1890) MP3 (t3260) CO (t850) Button (t960) SB (t2735) Hero (t3440) Preflop: Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 7 folds, SB completes, Hero checks. Final Pot: t2600 It seemed after that I needed a table move, but I never got it and people started really attacking me with garbage. I still feel like I played it right, was a push on the river hoping for a fold better than the 400 chips I got for showing it down? I had a very hard time adjusting, the psychology of the game had me looking for demons, even though everyone looked about the same as my usual limits. Anyone have any sound advice for playing above your normal limits? |

Re: Some hands from the Saturday $100+9 on Stars
Hand #1 - Bet the flop!
Hand #2 - Bet the flop! Hand #3 - I think you can make a bigger bet on the river Hand #4 - Raise the flop! Hand #5 - Raise the turn! Playing above your limits is very tough. I know when I play above my limits I usually play way too tight and I am afriad of going bust! I usually play 20-50$ tournaments and this past sunday I won a seat in a 400$ tournament that I played like garbage in! I was card dead the whole time but I just felt like I wasnt thinking straight. I think the only way to feel comfortable at a higher level it to play at this level on a more consistant basis. Another option is to take 3-4 shots of Jim Beam, OR you could pregame a little bit with 4 bud lights. gl... |

Re: Some hands from the Saturday $100+9 on Stars
Ok, I felt like I was playing weak/tight all game. Thanks for not telling me to just call with the flush. There was a masterful duel between AA and KK that had me so scared of my opponents I was nearly trembling when I entered the next pot.
I agree, I think some artificial courage would have helped. Suffice it to say, I won't be trying that again until I double my BR. |
