You almost had it in the first open event, where an active NHL player (Travis Green) finished 12th in the $1500 NL event.

Kevin...

Oh really? bwahahaha

Also, who the [censored] is travis green?

I think you guys are vastly overestimating the impact certain individuals have on poker.

I highly doubt a former #1 player in any sport qualifies as a 'b level celebrity', nerd nuts.

I'd venture to say that it's far far more difficult to win any major tennis tournament than it is a poker tournament,

Wow you're quite the risk-taker.

I'll prove him wrong. I'll be the Moneymaker of tennis. First I'll play a lot of online tennis, and with no previous experience, will register for the Wimbledon qualifiers to win it outright. So when you see that short guy holding his racket strangely against Federer, just remember you first read about it here.

As soon as Lebron James, Michael Vick, and Derek Jeter finish 1, 2, 3 in the WSOP ME let me know.

Otherwise, I'll stick to being horrible negative about everything.

Well, I am an expert at Mario Tennis. For some reason though, my 1337 skillz don't translate too well in live play. Any advice?

My actual point was that tennis is very challanging, both physically and mentally. I think, because of this, a former #1 player should have the capacity to be a very good poker player. In fact, I'm sure the poker life's probably an easier life for him.

I don't believe that if he wins he'll be portrayed in a "Moneymaker" fashion, but it will show (even moreso) that this is a game where mental strength is the key to being a winning player. I think by seeing successful people from different walks of life take up poker (and win), even more people will be drawn to the game, and the game will become even more socially acceptable and mainstream. I think a major reason I started getting serious about poker was because I saw players like Paul Phillips, Chris Fergeson and Phil Gordon (all former computer scientists) playing the game and winning.
