For some reason though, my 1337 skillz don't translate too well in live play. Any advice? My actual point was that tennis is very challanging, both physically and mentally. I think, because of this, a former #1 player should have the capacity to be a very good poker player. In fact, I'm sure the poker life's probably an easier life for him. I don't believe that if he wins he'll be portrayed in a "Moneymaker" fashion, but it will show (even moreso) that this is a game where mental strength is the key to being a winning player. I think by seeing successful people from different walks of life take up poker (and win), even more people will be drawn to the game, and the game will become even more socially acceptable and mainstream. I think a major reason I started getting serious about poker was because I saw players like Paul Phillips, Chris Fergeson and Phil Gordon (all former computer scientists) playing the game and winning.
