Re: Can I get business cards without having a job/business
Yeah anyone can get them.
You can get pretty decent edgeless glossy cardstock that is pre-perforated to biz cards at any office supply store. No cutting or anything. You can work up the card yourself or use one of the templates off their website. Amery is the company with the best last time I checked. You print your cards on any HP printer. Other printers will probably work as well. Self made cards won't be as high quality as professionally printed ones, but they can do the trick for you for cheap. |

Go to Staples or Office Depot. When I moved, I had cards made up with our new address and phone number. It was easier than writing it down for the 300 people who needed. $20 and you are set.

Re: Can I get business cards without having a job/business
[ QUOTE ]
I really think it would be awesome to have business cards with my contact info on them so when I meet someone, mostly girls I can just say "we should get together sometime", and hand them my card and walk off, instead of scrambling for a pen and paper. But I am a college student and don't have a job. Can I still have business cards without having a job? [/ QUOTE ] They'll let just about anyone into college these days, eh? |

Also, I always thought people who gave out business cards non-professionally were huge tools. -d [/ QUOTE ] Especially to girls. Rick Klausen (UT QB) would do this (so I heard) and mostly get laughed at. |

www.vistaprint.com [/ QUOTE ] I will second this. I've bought business cards from them twice, and considering they're free (you just pay like $5 for shipping), I was very pleased at the quality. The only 'strings' for the free business cards is a small vistaprint logo on the reverse side of the card. |

[ QUOTE ] Also, I always thought people who gave out business cards non-professionally were huge tools. -d [/ QUOTE ] I strongly disagree. I have business cards printed for me every year and the only thing I use them for is filters for joints. If you want to be defined by your job then handing out a business card (in a non-business interaction) is the way to go. If you want to give the other person some contact info (name, address, tel num, email info, etc...), having a non-work related business card (or calling card as Blarg so adequatly put it) is a great thing to do. Being defined as a person by what you do for a living is one of the biggest traps our society has put us in. I work to live, I don't live to work, so unless you need my OFFICE info, to connect with me about my WORK, you aren't getting my "business card" (which, like I said, I rarely if ever hand out anyway). |

I got mine at staples, $12 for 1,000. You won't find a better deal anywhere.
