Re: incident at a bar
ya, I thought he played it really badly. After he was escorted out I apoligized to the doormen and he apologized right back, and said we were welcome anytime with proper dress atire. But looking back I also think the doorman was a douchebag, because he really could have let him in.

Your friend, of course. [/ QUOTE ] Seriously. Unless I'm going to [censored] Damon's or something I would never even imagine wearing sandals to a bar. Who the [censored] wears sandals when they're not at the beach, anyways [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] Do you people have any sense of style? |

That's the point of the policy. No sandals. If the bouncer lets a ton of people who violate dress code he loses his job. That simple. I don't know what kind of bar this was but most bars I go to, I would be kind of pissed to run into douche bags wearing sandals on a saturday night. Actually I'd laugh because I know the girls at the bars I go to would laugh at them for wearing sandals. |

[/ QUOTE ] The very idea of giving a [censored] about something like this makes my head start to hurt. My standards of dress exist solely to please other people, because sometimes they care, and I never do. |

no sandals means no sandals, not that unreasonable. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I've seen people thrown off the Webster Hall line for wearing shoes that kinda look like sneakers. A no sandle rule is not unreasonable. |

Go somewhere else, or grease the doorman- it's really that simple. Arguing will get you nowhere… learn this early in life…. |

My thoughts on sandals to the bar is that it can only be pulled off at campus dive bars [/ QUOTE ] Correct. There are a select few places that I feel sandles are appropriate, and they're all campus dive bars. Which are fun places to go, don't get me wrong -- but given that you were going to a place with ANY kind of dress code, your friend shouldn't have been wearing sandles. |

Re: incident at a bar
I went to a bar in Scottsdale the other night with sandals on. Nobody said a damn thing. Really, who cares?
