Re: facing a min-reraise
Well lets see:
If he has AA, KK or QQ you are about a 4 to 1 dog. If he has TT-22 (which I doubt) you are about a 4-1 favorite. If he has AK or AQ you are a very slight favorite. What do you think he has? It is early in the tourney, so I assume you have no reads on him. You raised 4 times the big blind from UTG and that plus two cold calls didn't scare him because he came back over the top of all three of you. You raise half the pot and he still comes over the top of you. I would think he has a big pair (AA, KK or QQ). Since the blinds are still low and I have a decent amout of chips compared to the size of the blinds, I would let it go. |

Re: facing a min-reraise
Seems like a really weird line. If you fear an overpair check fold the flop no? I would put it all in.

Re: facing a min-reraise
my roommate was the hero on this hand... when he got the min-reraise, i said i thought it was likely AA/KK. do you agree?

Re: facing a min-reraise
min re-raises mean 1 of 2 things:
1) information- he wants to know if you're bluffing or not. if you call/raise, then he knows where he stands 2) he has a monster, and wants you to call. he's trying to bleed you for all the chips he can. |

Re: facing a min-reraise
What was the buy-in?
At party low levels, villains love to build pots with min raises when they have a 4-flush. I put him on 2 hearts if it was a $5-$20. No clue for high buy-ins. Steve |

Re: facing a min-reraise
Play JJ like a small pair this early in the tournament. limp + hope to hit a set.

[/ QUOTE ] that would have avoided these problems. the thing is, opponents will cold-call raises with A9o in the early going, and i think you're giving up an awful lot of equity by not charging them. i assume you still advocate raising QQ? |

Re: facing a min-reraise
I think he has a bigger PP, or hit his set, min reraise with that many limpers is probably a very strong hand. I think you have to lay it down.
