Default caught like a deer in headlights

2/4 NL 6 max

no idea how to play this...but i know this sucked.

hero (400) opens for 16 in UTG+1 with JJ, UTG+2 (454), CO call.

flop Td Jh 8h.
hero leads for 45, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds.

turn 4h.
hero checks, UTG+1 bets 90, hero calls.

river Qh
hero checks, UTG+1 bets 200, hero folds.

The turn was the critical street on this hand. I would lead the turn for about 2/3 -> 3/4 the pot. You can't let those one heart hands catch you for cheap. It also makes his raise more meaningful. If he raises, look at your pot odds, and see if you can fill up profitably.

After the river, I think check/fold is really all you can do.

i play it the same way...

BTW flop is 4way for ~60 in pot, I'd lead pot bet at this flop. Way too coordinated, and so many cards hurt, ideally you want a draw to move in.

if river blanks, (not a 4th heart) do you check/call, block bet, or check/fold? there's like ~300 in there and ~250+ in stacks, so bet/fold seems bad as does check/call, as a value bet will probably be all in. thats the street (when a 4th heart, which is an easy c/f, or board doesn't pair) that gets me here.

BTW, if you bet all in on a blank I think you're better served c/r all in on the turn.

I don't understand why you are so sure that villian has a flush.

He called a bet on the flop, he could easily have a pair, a straight draw, or he could just be trying to pull a delayed bluff.

good call, somehow when reading it i thought "utg+1, utg, and co all call" but then i realized hero was one of those positions
