Re: Following raptors post or just plain stupid?
Do you mean the AJ post? I think TPGK is much more marginal than bottom two pair. Granted, your hand's not invulnerable, but only a set or two-pair beat you. Nobody overbets the pot that badly when they have a hand as strong that; they want action, especially at the $11s where eveyone loves tho show how clever they are with slowplaying. So I think this is a must-call. I don't think you're passing on a marginal spot to gain info (i.e. if you fold you don't see villain's hand) or to preserve your chips. All you pass on is a good chance to double-up. Granted, villain may have you beat or be able to suck out, but I honestly think you're ahead such a large percentage of the time that folding is out of the question. Anybody else?

Re: Following raptors post or just plain stupid?
im sorry, but i dont think there is any way you should be folding this. What can he have that beats you? 88? I think AA (and its failed limp-reraise) is more likely.
Anyway, its a $10+1 so you should be calling this 150% of the time and watch him hit his flush. Jason |

Re: Following raptors post or just plain stupid?
Yeah, I meant to mention that too. This feels very much like he limped a big pair (JJ+) and now feels stupid and wants people out. I think you'll see QQ and JJ here a lot, again, I think at the $11s AA thinks himself smart and softplays this flop, so I'd be more surprised to see aces. Either way, I'm thinking big pair, which you're way ahead of.

Re: Following raptors post or just plain stupid?
Yea i acutally did push back at this,(so maybe more of a bad beat post sorry). He showed me k9 and hit a k on the turn. At least there happy. So if i bet and it came a K i could have thrown it away so now that i think about it, i did play it bad. Never overrate a 10/1.

Re: Following raptors post or just plain stupid?
This guy has a flush draw 75% of the time and some random K most of the rest of the time. The only hand I would actually be worried about is Ac8c which is a slight favorite over you and would consider a massive over bet like this.
Either way you need to bet the flop here because bottom 2 pair is a good but very vulnerable holding especially with the 2 flush on board and giving free cards is just bad poker. |
