Default My First 20/40 Hand

If this is boring and standard flame away. I was mostly unsure about the river action.

Party 20/40

Very first hand at the table, Villain is 30/9 over 700 hands.

I am in the BB with a Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Villain opens UTG. Folded to me. I call.

Flop is 775, two hearts.

I check/call.

Turn is the 9 of hearts.

I check/call.

River is the J of diamonds.

I bet, Villain raises, I call.

How'd I do?

huh? Personally, I don't go with the deception factor in this game, esp against a 30/9ish player. I threebet from the blinds. Then, bet, bet, call some raise and call the river.

I thought his position + his stats may have me as a dog or only slight favorite to his hand range there.

I threebet and keep going unless an Ace or King shows. If I get raised I slow down.

I don't interact with you too much, but you are friends with those Klepton and Shant kids, so I assume this is a joke.

Cripes forgot. Yeah, you can 3-bet. 30 VPIP is friggin HIGH, remember the blind structure is 1/2 now (I assume you moved up from 15/30) so you should be seeing some lower VPIPs.

Just to note, I do a lot of weird stuff (I don't post much in MH with advice), but I am pretty sure this is the standard line here.

Poorly. Get a raise in earlier. You'll get action from AK and you make someone who's behind you pay to draw out. You also cost yourself excessive action from something like 10-10 or JJ that might reraise you somewhere.

Do you mean re-raise PF or get one in on one of the later streets?

I actually like just calling preflop. I was referring to checkraising the flop or turn here (I actually prefer the flop b/c he might just call and raise the turn with ace high or give you alot of action with something like JJ).
