I think after going for 10 runs in 2 innings might keep him there. I dont think this lineup is going anywhere, Joe said he really wanted to split the lefties and this is the best way to do it. Also if Gary has to DH for a long time I think Crosby will stay in Right. So with him batting 9th there have some speed with Crosby, Jeter and A-rod in a row.

nah I havent, but I havent been listening to the radio so I wouldnt have heard.

I noticed that watching tonights game though. weird, its definitely not the right move. i dont really understand it, i can maybe see putting him 3rd and having giambi go 4th because of the speed factor, but second? why? im kind of lost and dont know what to think.

Their top 3 OBP guys are Jeter, Arod and Giambi, no? So there's an argument to be made for batting them 1-2-3.

He will be on base more for Matsui and Sheff to get him in. It also splits the lefties up in the lineup. I can see Matsui having a RBI chance in the first very often for the rest of the year. And if A-rod is unhappy oh well you do what Mr. Torre wants you to do!

well if arod is #2 the only legitimate good batter in front of him is jeter. hes not going to be batting with men on very often. i guess if it means matsui sheff and giambi will bat with a speedy arod on more, that makes up for arod not getting as many rbi chances. it feels weird though. also, arod is the best hitter in the lineup so you would think that youd want him batting with people on as much as possible.

jack- (or anyone)- where do you think giambi should be?
