Default Something some commentator on L@TB said last night about the BB

They were showing a very loose and very good 6/12 or 8/16 game last night, I don't really recall. One of the commentators mentioned something along the lines of "raising in the BB seems counterproductive because it puts you in such a small range of hands". So I was discussing this with daft and oreogod, both 10/20 PROFESSIONAL POKER PLAYERS, and they mentioned that mixing it up significantly with raising most pocket pairs and suited connectors down to 76s should be utilized a lot.

This specific scenario would generally be something along the lines of a loose fish limping, two TAGs limping along as well. You've got T9s in the BB.

I do this sometimes but probably not enough. People in the lower limits give a LOT of credit to blinds who raise. Much more than an UTG raise imo.

I raise alot of hands in that situation, pocket pairs, suited broadways, big aces, sometimes connectors if i'm feeling frisky. I don't think that my hand range is narrowed to a readable point.

Who cares if you're readable? It won't stop the pot from being enormous and you from having the best hand.

i like to exercise the mute function while watching live at the bike.

T9s is also a pretty awesome hand and id consider raising it for awesomeness and not for metagame.

I'm not sure how much this helps at lower limits. They do give you a lot of credit for a hand, but that doesn't really stop them from chasing and calling down with bottom pair.

To execute this properly as daft said, and I completely agree, you have to be able and willing to check flops that miss you. You also have to be checking some flops that don't miss you.
