Default how to play big pot oop when 3rd suit hits river

OK this is a very general question, but I hope not too general to get some responses. A situation I find myself in quite a lot is where the flop is 2 suited and I am betting into it out of position with a decent hand and one caller. Then the 3rd suit comes on the river. In general, what is the most profitable way to play this situation (assuming both players have more than the pot left in chips) - do you keep betting, check and call, check and fold to a pot bet? What if you check and he overbets the pot? OK, I know this is vague and you're going to tell me you need more info on all streets, but I seem to find myself in lots of situations which are very similar to this - I feel my opponent is drawing and then the flush card hit and I think "*@#!! what do I do now?"

Thoughts?

bet size vs. % you think you're still good, ummm isn't this answer obvious???? K82 two flush is different than 569 two to a flush (bluffing missed str8 when flush comes is ULTRA common). Ummm...experience best guide???? VERY VERY player dependant.
