Re: KK in the big blind
raise preflop. why didn't u? u need a real good reason not to. flop can be ok depending on the read but I almost always wait until the river when check-raised in this spot, as: river raise is more likely to be called, less likely to be re-popped and u can just call if a bad card falls (depending on the board)

Re: KK in the big blind
I would normally raise preflop because he has already completed, and I think you can suck people into blind wars much better with a preflop raise. They are much more likely to fight back when they think your trying to "steal".
The way you played it you have to 3-bet the turn. EDIT: I prefer JR's idea of raising the river |

Re: KK in the big blind
I usually do raise here and I usually get a call and a check fold on the flop. I thought I would try and trap him.
Part of the reason I posted this was to see if anyone thought slowplaying is a good idea here. Interesting thoughts about the turn. I was just thankful for the action and trying to get as much in the pot as quickly as I could. |

Re: KK in the big blind
You have to raise preflop, every time. A player who will check/fold the flop after you raised should do the same in an unraised pot, and an aggressive player will play back at you often.
As for the rest of the hand, I 3-bet players who I read more likely to hold a queen or decent pair (who will call down or even cap you), and wait for the river against probable bluffs that might fold the turn immediately. |
