order of showing at end.
i'm not really new to the game but i never paid alot of attention to this when i play. and i think i should pay attention.
what is the order for showing your cards at the end??? does it go left from the dealer?? or does it have to do with the last person who called???.... i think when you are bluffing, semi-bluffing alot and playing draws, you don't necessarily want your opponent to know what you're up to... but if you're first to show, i think you'd be crazy not to show at all. have you ever seen someone muck their hand when no one else has shown yet?? |

I believe it starts with left of the dealer.

Re: order of showing at end.
The last person to initiate or re-open the betting is the first person to show.
On the river, player A bets. Player B calls. Player C raises. Players A and B both call. Player C is required to show first. |

oops, my bad, i was assuming that everyone checked on the river, in that case, it's left of the dealer.

oops, my bad, i was assuming that everyone checked on the river, in that case, it's left of the dealer. [/ QUOTE ] Not everywhere, though. Sometimes it's required that the aggressor on the prior round - where there was action - shows first. So, the bettor on the turn shows first if it's checked on the end. I don't think it's wise to take all this too far. If you think you have a winner, show it down. If you think you don't, hesitate and see if you'll get a chance to muck it. But don't hold the game up. It's ridiculous sometimes where players at showdown don't want to show. Regards, T |

[ QUOTE ] has anyone ever seen anyone not show at end when first to show??? [/ QUOTE ] You mean when they were supposed to be first to show? Sure, it happens. Regards, T |

[ QUOTE ] cause sometimes books say make a bet just so you don't have to show. [/ QUOTE ] sorry, i think i had it backwards... bet so that you don't show up a bluffer or habitual or something like that... i can't remember who it was hellmuth or sklansky or miller/sklansky but i thought one of them was cognicent of not getting predictable people to change their play. i agree with the comment not to take any of this stuff too far. |

Re: order of showing at end.
That was Hellmuth, he said something like that you should sometimes play suited connectors very aggresively, so that you either hit a monster or show down 8-high to induce action later in the game.
