Who Is More Of A Man?
At your local no-limit game at hodunk casino some player catches miracle running cards to draw out on his opponent. He then starts berating the man he drew out on, calling him stupid, a weak player, a sissy, etc. The man responds by:
A: Doing nothing. Taking the verbal abuse. Then after awhile threatening to get the floor man! B: Telling the villian he does not approve of his behavior and if he wants to continue talking they can go outside and talk it over. Who is cooler? Who would you rather be? Which one is more of a coward? Which is more of a man? |

I couldn't say without measuring the length, girth and tensile strength of their courage.

I couldn't say without measuring the length, girth and tensile strength of their courage. [/ QUOTE ] Basically you can't answer because you know which of the two is acting like more of a pussy. |

No, I don't answer because I won't convince you and so I want to say something that other people may find funny.

Erostratus, I did want to clarify that it's fine if he calls me an idiot or a weak player or implies that he wants to skullfuck my mom, but if he calls me a sissy, OH IT'S ON! Wait. No. But thanks for making this even more transparently about insecure masculinity. If he says I'm queer and I don't kill him, everyone will think it's true! |

No, I don't answer because I won't convince you and so I want to say something that other people may find funny. [/ QUOTE ] You can't convince me because your only argument is that you are more of a man than me because you take [censored]. For a guy who doesn't care about his ego or about looking like a big man you sure like to bring up how you are so full of self-esteem and manliness that you don't have to defend yourself. Which you keep doing anyways. You know who created the whole I'm not going to stick up for myself because I'm real confident line? Pussies. Pussies created it as an excuse for why they let other people walk all over them. We both know the real reason. |

Re: Who Is More Of A Man?
You say that a strong man is someone who demonstrates his power by letting other people enrage him and then taking revenge.
I say that a strong man is someone who demonstrates his power by not getting mad. You don't have to reassert your control if you never lose it in the first place. |

I say that a strong man is someone who demonstrates his power by not getting mad. You don't have to reassert your control if you never lose it in the first place. [/ QUOTE ] I never said a strong man lets someone enrage him. You putting words in my mouth and making up my argument for me so you can shoot it down seems to be evidence you can't refute what I am saying. If someone acted like that, I would not be enraged. But it is inexcustable behavior that must be dealt with. If someone walked up to me in the street and spit on me, I probably wouldn't be mad. But I'd still have to deal with them. So you seem to have a belief that to stand up for yourself, you must be angry and out of control? Basically the fight response? I think shelling up and doing nothing is the flight response. The middle ground would be to stand your ground and let them know that behavior will not be tolerated. What do you have against standing up for yourself? |

Re: Who Is More Of A Man?
Why is it inexcusable? Why isn't it just dumb or rude?
And what do you imagine is different about the outcome if the floor person ejects said guy versus if you take it outside and have a fight? What exactly does the fighting accomplish? |

[/ QUOTE ] If you were secure in yourself then you would not allow others to verbally abuse you. I'm thinking it is insecurity and a lack of confidence that allows that keeps you from taking care of yourself rather than relying on the dealer or floorman. The fact that you have to keep bringing up how secure you are in your masculinity, and how insecure I must be kind of destroys your whole "I'm secure and don't have to defend myself" philosophy. Doesn't surprise me because it's built upon a lie. |
