It depends on the table coach. Some of them are so upset they will keep ranting no matter what.

For others I find the line "wow, do we have to pay anything for these great poker lessons?" work pretty well and it amuses the fish.

Either 'POKAR IS EASY!!!11' or 'Amazing, you teach us AND pay for the lessons at the same time!!', is usually enough.

I suggest you lay off the bottle before trying to reply to these posts!

I agree wholeheartedly with monty here. The table coach is almost as valuable a fish as the fish he is berating.

Already halfway on tilt and sure he/she knows it all.

That said, I will often try to direct the attention of the table coach off the fish and onto me. A well-timed non-poker related insult works well. Often something as simple as "Why are you such a dick?" will be enough to start a twenty minute long mother-insult war and the fish and poker advice are left behind in the dust.

I used this line once to get the coach to turn his attention to me.

Me: "You know what I find helps with that?"
Coach: "what?"
Me: "Whining about it a little more."

After this is was the full onslaught on yours truly. It's fine I can handle it. More importantly it went to personal attacks on me rather than "coaching" (I use this term loosely with most of these clowns) the fish.

I always type "We can play however we want unless you're gonna be putting the money in for us." The fish usually responds with a thank you.

I'll often use my mama's favorite line..."If you can't take the heat, get outta the kitchen."

"zip it, coach"

many times they know coaching is bad, and just need a reminder.
