The Ashes
Any brits, or Australians, or anyone for that matter (but i'm pretty sure the brits and aussies are the only people that really care) following the Ashes? Looks like England are finally going to win them again for the first time since 1987. I'm urinating over myself with excitement.

Re: The Ashes
They last lost them in 1989 to Alan Borders side, just to be correct.
It's been a fantastic series and I think it's done cricket a lot of good. The aussies have dominated so overwhelmingly for so long that a lot of the Australian games were just meh, who cares they're gonna win. This has really kicked some life back into the cricket world. I'm an Aussie and I'm not happy to be losing the ashes, particularly mostly due to bad light in the last test, but it's good for the game. Besides, the poms would have cried if they had lost them again this year, and nobody wants to see a whinging pom. To lose the second test by only 2 runs emphasises just how close this series has been (although we got our asses kicked badly in one of the tests). If that test goes the other way, the series would not have been as exciting as it has been. Don't worry pommies, you won't have to worry about holding them for too long. |
