Default The meaning of Tuesday\'s elections.

Considering how low Bush is in the polls, if Gilmore wins Virginia, you got to admit that has huge significance. A GOP pickup of the seat held by one of the most popular Democrat governors in the country.

It certainly would show that GOP voters are ready to turnout despite their feelings of meh towards Bush.

Or, it will simply show, once again, how ignorant/uninformed/dense/easily swayed, the general electorate is. They simply can not understand how evil the Repubs are. They lap up the lies and distortions the Repubs spew.

No matter how many times the Dems repeat the truth. No matter how wonderful all the Dem plans for doing everything right. No matter how wonderful the US (and the rest of the world) would be with nothing but Dems in elected offices. People just don't get it.

Neither REPUBLICAN nor DEMOCRATIC candidate in Virginia has detailed a true plan to take on any of the issues in tomorrow's election should they win. It's sad really.

Not to be a jerk or anything...

It's Kilgore not Gilmore...I think the MSM media and the Dems will make a bigger deal if Kaine wins than the stink if Kilgore wins.

I was thinking about that today, being an interested observer here in Virginia. I think that some of it stems from the fact that Kilgore got off to a hot start in the polling, and it is now dead even. I honestly wouldnt be that shocked if Kaine wins, being that he is following in the footsteps of a rather popular Democratic governor.

What a completely ignorant, elitist, condesending statement. I'm no line stepper with the Repubs, but comments like this are just stupid and moronic.

People choose what they want to support and the america they want to live in. If those line up with the Dems, Repubs, Libs, Socialists, Greens whatever, vote the people that will change America to be in line with your values.

Statements like yours are the reason why the Democratic party is a weak party right now and not providing the needed counter weight to the Republican party. They are too wrapped up in being offended that the general populace may not see the same way as them. So they are whining and complaining rather than adapting and providing independent solutions and not just being reactionary...

It really sad when statements like yours just prevent people from taking you and your party seriously... It is a true disservice.

Agreed.

I jsut think they will play it as the end of the Repubs if Kaine wins. But when you think about it, it wouldn't be that big of a move.

Yes, well this shows I am not watching the race that closely.

With several of you making a big deal of every one point decline in Bush's polls, how can they then so easily dismiss a GOP pick-up of a seat from the uber-popular Mark Warner?

Someone mentioned that the media won't make a big deal if Kilgore wins. Thats true. But it shows that the media can create negative poll ratings for Bush by relentless negative stories, but they have little impact on actual election results. Election results are more important.
