Default Roy Cooke\'s playing of hands?

I'm sorry if this has been addressed in this forum, but I have done repeated searches. I thought I remembered seeing it mentioned , maybe by Ed, but I can't find it.

Has anyone here read it and can offer an insight? Have any of 2+2 authors reviewed it? I have all 2+2 books (poker, gambling) but only a couple that are not. However, It's Christmas time and I'm fishing. thanks, Jim

I haven't read it myself, but here are some reviews:

Mason's review (look towards the end of the post).

Reviews by Rolf Slotboom: Real Poker and Real Poker II. Note that the bad score for Real Poker II seems to be mostly because Rolf is disappointed about paying for the same content twice. Since the content is the same you should be looking at the score for Real Poker.

Conjelco has just released a new edition of Real Poker II. I think I remember Chuck saying that the content isn't any different than previous editions, it's just that the book gets a new publisher and gets printed again.

Ed Miller recommended Real Poker II in GSIH.

Mason says...

Real Poker II: The Play of Hands (9) by Roy Cooke. This text is especially helpful to those of you who are interested in the thought processes of an expert player when he is at the table. Cooke is at his best when he is stepping through a hand.

This is a good book, lots of insightful thought, a worthwhile read.

Would someone who mostly plays no limit get a lot of value out of it?

No, not really. But then again, it can't really hurt. So at the price it doesn't have to give alot of value, if something he says about how he thinks about players helps you win a single pot the book has paid for itself.

His discussion of player types in conjunction with the current board texture should give some value to a NL player though.
