Default 5/10 NL- Set? All in!

Literally the hand before I laid down a set of 2's on a KJJ42 board and I really had trouble letting go of the set there. Next hand comes up. Opponent seems pretty standard, player. Nothing crazy yet.

Online 10 handed

EP (~2k) makes it 30, I (1.6k) call in MP with 44, folded around

Flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Pot: 75ish

He bets 75, I make it 200, He fairly quickly makes it 1.4k (not all in, nor putting me exactly all in, but really close)

I?

Call. He probably got something like AT, QJs, KJs.
If he had something like AA TT, he played 'em well, nothing you can do about it, just call.

Muck preflop to avoid very unpleasant situation when you flop a set and Villain go allin.

If he's a tight player, he might have pocket 10.
Otherwise, he might have A10 or KQ heart. Without reading him, I would fold. If I read him already from the previous hands, I'd call!

Call me crazy, but this is an insta call. There's only one hand you're really fearing and that's 1010. He could easily be pushing with KQ hearts or A10.

You've hit your pocket pair. The only reason I can think of to draw to low pp is to get someones stack when you hit. If you can't put your money in here why would you be trying to catch a set?

Default RESULTS

As usual, this is probably more of a results oriented post. I pretty much insta called, and he had AA. I hit quads.

I ran into set over set situations (where I was behind) about 3 times in 800 hands or so last night and I guess it got me thinking.
