Lock him up and throw away the key.

Are you sure he resigned? I didn't hear him resigning when he was on CNN.

Agreed. He'll get no pity from me.

That's what the story said. Plus, I think you have to resign if you plead guilty to a crime like this.

This is makes me sad. Duke Cunningham is a legend of Navy aviation. Him and his RIO, Willie Driscoll, were the first Aces of the Vietnam war. I was unaware of his political misconduct, which I agree is reprehensible. Still its hard to see a hero fall.

It's always worse, to me, when someone you think is above this sort of thing gets caught up in it. We admire folks, put them in special categories and then find their feet are clay, just like everyone else.

Cunningham and Driscoll, IIRC, were somewhat the models for the movie, "Top Gun."

Tonight I heard Nancy Pelosi quoted saying something about "the corruption in the Republican party." Yeah, Miz P. belongs to the Party of Purity, doesn't she? The same party that gave us ole "Steal-a-stamp" Rostenkowski. Proving once again that amidst sadness, someone's bound to find a silver lining - for themselves.
