Bluff raising river
10/20 5-handed. We both have about $2000.
folded to me on the button, I make it $70 with 8s6s. SB folds, villain calls. Flops is Jd 9d 4c. We both checks, I have done this with air as well as with a real hand. Turn is Kc. He checks I bet $130 (pot is $160), he calls. River is Qd, making a fourstraight and a 3-flush. He bets $325 I make it $1300. Would you drop the straight here? Comments appreciated. |

Re: Bluff raising river
spewage in my opinion. he could
A) have a flush and likely call B) have a straight and maybe call C) have anything else and probably fold. of course if he calls you lost, so your risking 1300 to win about 750...so i guess this has to work about 60% of the time? or maybe more, i dont know. |

Re: Bluff raising river
do you mean that you dont fold the naked ten or the nut straight?
im mucking the ten here barring a pretty strong read and AT against many opponents |

Re: Bluff raising river
Given how the hand played out, I am not even folding the naked ten here.

Re: Bluff raising river
You don't think it's plausible for the hero to have checked his flush draw on the flop?

Re: Bluff raising river
I dont like this bet. I think you get called too often when you raise from the button here and play the hand as you did.

Re: Bluff raising river
I like it but its entirely opponent dependent and nobody has a better read than you do thus I don't think we'll qualified to comment.
