Weak-tight games are never going to be as good as loose/passive limpfests.

True that.

I think you could argue that the large amount of bonus overlay at Absolute makes up the EV difference between the two types of games.

I only talked about the "juicy TAG" game because Absolute has a rep for being so tough. I think there is plenty of money to be made in those games above and beyond the bonuses.

oh man... I play a lot on Abs 2/4 and 3/6 (usually 6-max). I'm playing after 9pm Pacific time... I wonder how many of you are taking my $$$? I'm surviving on bonii and rakeback there.

I'm sure I play a lot of you at Absolute. It's not all that tight, but the density of good players is higher at Absolute than at Party.

That said, the limpfest at Party is just KILLING an aggressive like me this month. I raise, they call. Flop. Bet. Call. Turn. Bet. Call. River. Bet. Reraise. Crap. K4 beats AK on a KT864 board.

Welcome to hell.

I took a crack at 3 tabling 5/10 at Absolute today.

I felt good being there, the games seemed significantly looser than 1/2 or 2/4, definitely not a bonus whoring rock garden. But I managed to drop 50 BB in 4 hrs.

Maybe I'm just another TAGish sucker.

So maybe you should calm down.

Nope. It was just a 3 weeks session of variance. Checked my stats, nothing out of order. I had my 300 BB meltdown. Now in recovery mode.

Hope I didn't just jinx myself.

What's your absolute s/n?

I'd be willing to tell you if you were a sucker.

I play these games very regularly and I'll meet about 1 opponent out of every 40 that actually scare me at the 5/10 level.

At 10/20+, it's about 1 out of 20, and they are all 2+2ers.

I find these games profitable enough, but most of the clowns on there aren't as good as they think, even the ones from 2+2.

Im sure you would, but I'll decline the offer. I'd hate to wind up on a proven 5/10 winner's "buddy list" at this point.

Iv'e played 5/10 at pokerroom & party with profitable results over about 2500 hands each (yes, I know thats not alot, at this point I'm only taking "shots" at 5/10).

Ironically, the Absolute 5/10's I played the other day felt like one of the juiciest 5/10 iv'e ever played in. I had PA HUD up on the screen and the loose fishy ones quickly became distinguishable from the tighter, better players.

At this point iv'e reviewed about 70% of my hands from that session and have concluded that - 1) I made several critical, costly, mistakes. 2) I ran significantly worse than usual. 3) With some adjustments, I should be able to beat the Absolute 5/10 (although I might not scare anyone while doing so)

Here are my stats from that session.
VPIP - 21.16
PFR - 8.02
VPIP from SB - 42.11
Folded SB to steal - 54.55
Folded BB to steal - 100
Att to steal blinds - 26.32
Won $ WSF - 26.32
WTSD - 30.7
Won$ SD - 31.43
AF - 1.27
