Default A2s vs. flop push - 10/20 NL shorthanded.

4-handed.
effective stacks 2k.

hero: A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

hero opens utg to 70.

solid player that is likely a winner in this game but seems to be weak lately calls on the button.

FLOP: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]-7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]-2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (pot:170)

hero leads for 190.
button pauses, goes all in for 1800.

hero calls quickly.

9sTs is a 55% favorite. A pair as hefty as 55 is an 80% favorite. Hands like 8s7s and As7s have hero just destroyed.

Not sure what you were hoping for, chuddo. This looks like a very tilty play.

This seems like a math question. My wild ass guess at his range is the following:

Set -- 5%
Overpair -- 15%
Flush draw with overs -- 30%
Combo straight and flush draw -- 25%
Air -- 25%

Where does that leave you?

My thoughts are WTF is wrong with you?

So he had a 53 spades and missed? Still a brutal call.

If he has something he has you close to a coin flip or destroyed.

If he has nothing you can accomplish your goal with a much smaller bet.

obviously you put him on air... but my fear is how often youd lose to air here.

putting a guy on a 'range' given this massive overbet requires a bit of help from the gods. you hope he has AK? do you really want to get this much money in there against him if he has any two spades/overcards (QsJs, maybe)? and god forbid he has a pair, and youre in there with 5 outs. i think this call is crazy, unfortunately he probably has to take this down with his air...

I've given this some more thought and decided that if you're doing stuff like this, you're playing out of your league. You've probably had a good run of cards and think you are a good player, but you obviously are not.

I think you should move down a few levels, read some books and watch less WPT.

Best of luck.
