I like checking 5th. If he bricks on 6th, bet out. If not, check/call it down.

Sometimes I play 3rd, sometimes I dont. I play fourth the same, but crap my pants when he caps it. I would check-call down from 5th on.

Betting 5th doesn't make sense. A bet will go in anyway and it looks like you're chopping and he might have redraw to scoop (in which case you get raised). I'm checking here. I learned that the expensive way.

I wouldn't be so concerned that he caps it, it appears he's just jamming against the other low. I agree with your assessment from 5th on, though.

Have you heard that 86% of all statistics are made up on the spot?

Keep in mind our board shows A2 so our opponent has to be concerned that we may have a better low draw. This is of course based partly on table image, and our read of the villian. Best case scenerio we are HU with a hand like A256 and we are basically 50-50 in the pot. Worst case scenerio we are up against 666 or in this case 555 and are almost a 4-1 dog. This is pretty player dependent, but against players who arent going donkey crazy I would imagine this is the likely scenerio(either coin flip or big dog). I would also imagine that if our opponent bricked on 5th and we bet out and were raised that higher level stud8 players would be able to find a fold against certain opponents. I am calling down everytime...but I also dont think I am that good.

I have to admit that I had this player pegged as a donk. I wanted to punish them if they had paired and were still drawing to a low. Unfortunate in this situtaion is the fact that donks are rolled up just as often as the rest of us.
Thanks to everyone who responded.
