Default TPNK turn fold.

5/10 on party, effctive stack is $640.

I raise to $40, standard raise, w/ 9c7c. Button calls, blinds fold.

The flop is 9h 5h 3s. I bet 7/9 to take it down right there and then. He calls.

The turn is 2s. The pot is $180. I bet out $140. My hand is too weak to c/r with and I cannot possibly afford to give him a free card here. He makes it $350. He has $180 more so its essentially an all in. Easy fold?

I definately need more information about both your image, his style, and how he's been doing lately. How likely is he to make this bet with the flush draw? Straight draw? overpair? set?
you're only getting 2-1 so its not all that tough to lay down, but you can call if he is the right opponent to make the call against.

he is fairly new to the table. just another 5/10 donk.

The pot going to the turn is $180. Afther his raise the pot is 180 + 140 +350 = $670. He has $180 left in his stack.

If your game is where you're raising w/ SC's and such, it's because you are/should be good enough not to lose much money in these exact type of situations (which arise often). Fold, of course.

how is the pot 180 going into the turn if you made it 40 preflop he calls and the blinds fold? first of all that would mean 95 in the pot on the flop... then you say you bet "7/9 (whatever the F that means) to take it down right there" well even if you bet half pot or thereabouts it would still be awkward. besides that, when you say you bet something to take it down right there, it suggests betting close to pot. which would make the pot a lot bigger than it was going into the turn.

i really can't give any criticism since you're so unclear about the bets. did this hand not actually even take place or did you have trouble multiplying the stakes by 5.23409 or something?
