Default POLL---Who is more Reasonable

Which group is more reasonable? Please explain if you have issues with the phrasing of the question.

Are you asking in general or specifically here on the board? What will this poll tell you (or anyone)? In other words, why do you ask?

I mean in general.

The poll will gather some information. I have a hypothesis and I want to test it using this function. To reveal my hypothesis before there are significant results would skew subsequent results...DYSW?

Another question: Are you asking if they are more reasonable in the position they hold – that there is a God or that there is no god? Or are you asking if they are more reasonable in viewing the issue itself relatively objectively? Or are you even asking are they more reasonable about things in general?

Not trying to be difficult. – So,yeah,I guess I have issues with the phrasing of the question. Your answers here should clarify those issues. (Not promising your answer won’t stimulate further questions from me.)

I didn't vote, yet. I was waiting on clarification. My choice depends on how I understand the question. (This also does not guarantee I will vote - lol.)

While I don't believe in any gods, I had to vote that people who do are more reasonable. It's less of a battle to follow along. Lip service and genuine piety have equal value in the eyes of society.

I'm not even sure if civilization could have reached it's current state without religions' influence on the masses.

Hmmm, so you took "reasonable," to mean: easily lead? I would think most people would interpret it as meaning: More guided by logic and reason. Perhaps I am wrong and the poll is somewhat rubbish. Perhaps it's still helpful. Thanks for voting anyway, even if you didn't know what it was for (No thanks to you RJT!)

I'm confused hurly...How did you vote?

I don't think judging by group is sufficient.

Humans are naturally emotionable and thus have a great ability to be closed-minded and stubborn.

Those that may think they are more reasonable that the other side might be just as deluded or moreso, after all reason is objective and bias (either positive or negative) hinders objectivity.

My 2c.

I said that people who believed in a god were more reasonable, at least socially. If you are raised with a religion, you generally accept those religious beliefs. That's perfectly reasonable.

As far as being more guided by logic and reason, it's conjecture either way until we die or can communicate with the dead.

Regardless of everything said in this forum, most people want a comfortable life, to keep what they gain, and prefer being alive over dead despite the hope of an eternal afterlife in heaven and work towards fulfilling earthly goals. If believing in heaven and god help offset fear of death and prevent you from becoming a basket case who can find no purpose to the universe without a god, believing is certainly reasonable.

Individual capacity has everything to do with what's reasonable.
