Here are the movies mentioned in the previous thread. I've eliminated epics that are more drama than war, as well as goofy stuff that shouldn't be considered. Is this list missing anything? Should any of these be eliminated? Beernutz, if you want to pick this back up feel free, it's too important a poll to be forgotten!!!!

You can probably eliminate movies that simply use the war as a backdrop, like "Victory". Otherwise, you have to include stuff like "Gone With the Wind", etc.

"Lawrence of Arabia" should be on the list. "Casablanca" maybe, too. There are just too many war movies or movies that are set durring wars so they could be considered war movies or some other genre. This is kind of like voting for the best western, I think you need to constrain it more.

Edit "Black and White in Color" is another one I recall, but I cannot remember if it was any good (I saw it when I was <10 I think.)

You could also include "Gettysburg" (U.S. Civil War) and "Last of the Mohicans" (French-Indian War).

This is what I was trying to say. Maybe say that the movie must contain at least one battle scene or something like that.
