Straddle/Table Image
I've read a few straddle threads recently, and had the following idea.
First of all -- me. Mostly low limit games (2/4. 3/6 or 4/8). I play tight/moderate (am working on becoming more aggressive, but that's another story). At most tables the people at these stakes aren't terribly observant, and I can still get some action by playing tight. However, occasionally, someone will notice that I'm not playing a lot of hands, and may even comment about it. This kills my action. So, here's the thought -- take a couple of hands and go for the live straddle. If anything, this is noticable. My thought is that something like this once or twice may establish a looser table image and allow me to get away with playing tightly otherwise and still get action. Any thoughts? |

Re: Straddle/Table Image
I think you'll get a lot more action out of a bluff than a straddle for the same money. A straddle will get attention, but people know you're straddling. They won't know when you're bluffing, so they're more likely to call your other hands.
