Default A few hands from my first 3/6 session

Hand 1: Villain is TAG after 36 hands

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 raises, 4 folds, Button calls, 1 fold, Hero calls.

Flop: (6.33 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets, Button calls, Hero calls.

UTG+1 obviously has a strong hand but it could be QQ, KQs or KK as much as JJ AA or AK... If I'm behind to AK or JJ I have outs.

Turn: (4.66 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets, Button folds, Hero calls.

River: (6.66 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero calls.

do I raise at any point to test out UTG+1? Do I fold at the river since I haven't improved and UTG+1 doesn't seem to be afraid of the A?

Hand 2: same villain

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (7 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
4 folds, Hero raises, SB calls, BB 3-bets, Hero calls, SB calls.

Flop: (9 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets, Hero raises, SB folds, BB 3-bets, Hero calls.

I raise here because I really want to know what BB has... I wasn't sure how to interpret the preflop raise to my steal attempt or his bet out

Turn: (7.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets, Hero calls.

afraid of what I decided was an overpair

River: (9.50 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 15.50 BB

Hand 1 if you're going to call the river you might as well bet.

Hand 2 I don't like the call at the end. He's not 3-betting worse hands. He has a bigger spade, likely the A.

Hand 1: on the flop I'll bet into the preflop raiser. If he raises me hopefully it'll drive out the button and I'll call and check/fold the turn unless a 6 comes.

Hand 2: I'd just call the river.

What outs are you hoping to catch against JJ?

Couldn't the preflop raiser make the same flop raise with such hands as KK, QQ, KJs, and QJs?

Yes it is possible. But it seems that most small limit party players won't raise my flop bet unless they have an ace. And since they raised preflop it is usually with a better kicker than my six.

Well, he didn't get his flop bet raised. He check/called. Even if he did lead out, I'd raise here with KK behind him and I know a lot of 3/6 players on Party would do that.

Your generalizations lead me to believe you haven't played Party 3/6 enough, or maybe at all.

Yeah. I didn't mention that because I was so baffled by the 3-bet call. If you can't fold to the 3-bet then calling is definitely correct here, IMO. So I agree.

thanks everyone... I clearly have a lot to work on. I can definitely see how I should have bet on the river, in fact I was thinking it after the hand... is this a situation where you "bet if you are willing to fold to a raise?" I never really challenged villain. I also should have just called the river on hand 2.

Also, were both preflop plays ok?

Villain had KK in hand 1 and AA with a spade in hand 2.

And you're right... I haven't played Party 3/6 enough... as the title says its my first session. I just got the BR for party 2/4 and I decided to try out 3/6 as an experiment. On the other hand, a later hand I raised with A10 after the turn gave an A to give QKA... I was three bet and basically called the bet and the river because the pot was so big I didn't want to fold a winning hand. I ended up winning a 15BB pot with 1 pair over A9... maybe you overrate party 3/6? Like I said I have no experience with it
