If Amir has any pair other than AA or KK, Thor is getting a decent price to call based on the money already in the pot.

The amount in the pot WAS WAY TOO MUCH TO BE A BLIND STEAL GO BAD.

Are you sure, you trust ESPN to give you the right information on this? Are you mad? ESPN has been caught doctoring hands in that world series and now you think they have the pot right? Please. Tell me you have a better defense.

Peace

I'm not referring to the hand on TV. I am just referring to whether he should call AK against a pair of 2s. This was the example given by the other poster.

FWIW, it was Olof Thorson, a PokerStars qualifier, not Thor Hansen (veteran pro) who lost against Amir Vahedi. Also, Thorson busted himself the very next hand the way he played his KK against Sammy Farha.

I don't know for sure how much was in the pot, but Amir couldn't have gone in for all THAT much if calling with 6 outs twice (about 24% chance of winning) was correct.

I'm quite sure you don't know exactly how much Amir went in for or how much a percentage of Thor's stack it was either.

Peace

Sorry, I reread the post. All my babble was concerning preflop play. I didn't realize it was after the flop.

Who are the ten dumbest "name" poker players? Why?

[/ QUOTE ]

Gus Hansen. He goes in with hands that even God can't improve. But he still manages to win. "Balls. Big Balls."
