AA Installment Plan

Reads: The CO seems to be a laggy, tricky player who likes to raise weakness. He will overbet the pot as well. The button just sat down, no read on him except that he bought in very short.

My Thoughts: On the flop, I decided to bet small for two reasons:

1) I wanted to set up a trap for the CO. I was hoping that he would call, so that I could check/raise him on the turn. I felt confident going to the felt with this hand against the CO if necessary.

2) If the CO folded, I decided I would use the installment plan and try to put the button all-in with small bets on each street, which is how it played out.

the turn bet was kinda small.... u only have a pair, you realize, and your giving pretty generous odds.. unfortunate that river came..

I'd like to check the turn. You're way ahead or way behind. Then check the river and try to induce a bluff.

He's a shortstack, get it all in there on the turn IMO, or bet like 25-30 putting him basically allin so he'll hopefully push the last in himself... but not sure if it would've changed anything. He had a 9? [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

meh, I just push the turn, I think a push looks just as much like a bluff if not more than a small bet

This is my normal line against a shortstack, but I thought I would try something different.

I'm not sure about your flop bet. You seem to have well thought out reasons, but it's not a play I would make. If the idea is to induce action from the cutoff I think you looked a little too weak here. I would bet like $14-16. I like your milking bets given his stacksize once the pot becomes heads up.
