Default Re: Stop\'N\'Go

Looking at the flop for a second. I typically play this a little different. I have 5 players still in and an unraised pot.

I check/raise on this cheap street. I check to see where I stand.

If I check and an EP player bets and gets a couple of calls, I fold.

If I check, and a late position player bets, I will raise, If I am 3 bet, I am confident that the LP player has a 6 and I can Fold.

A portion of the time I get a fold due to the EP guys needing to call 2 cold. I would like to fold an Ace that has a kicker that can counterfit my 2 pair.

If I am called on the flop, I can check again on a ragged turn and often will get a free card as they think I am check raising again.

If I check the turn and get bet into, I can call it down or raise it up depending on reads.

If I get checked through, I bet the river.

Overall, the main issue here is 5 players to the flop. I play it way differently HU or 3 way.

Any merit to the above?

I think it's a good idea. He either has a 6 or your tied. If he has a six, he will call you down. If you checked, he may just check it down with you so you miss money.
