Default Jim Jarmusch (with poll)

Just took the old lady to see "Broken Flowers" last night. We both thoroughly enjoyed it, and I was surprised at how well Jarmusch fit Bill Murray into his sort of idiosyncratic directorial style. The pacing of the movie, while similar to drama/action movies from his past, worked well for what was in many ways a comedy.

Unfortunately we were the only people under 50 in the audience, and apparently everyone else was determined that this movie would be an irreverent romantic comedy. I did not feel it was the kind of movie that a bunch of baby boomers should be laughing out loud at.

A lot of people seem to feel that Jarmusch has fallen off a bit with his recent work, but I disagree. I've enjoyed several of his recent works immensely. With that in mind, I'd like users to vote on their favorite Jarmusch movie. Discuss if you like.

I'm letting you vote for two because there are many good ones.

I think I've only seen Ghost Dog. But I liked it (aside from seeing clumsy fat-ass Forrest Whitaker trying to do kata) so I voted for it.

I think I've watched Stranger Than Paradise more times than Resevoir Dogs. Loved that flick.

I liked this movie, but it was definitely his worst. The Rza cameo was pretty silly.

I thought Broken Flowers was excellent. I thought I liked Jarmusch, but once I look at the list I think meh.

I saw Broken Flowers on a Sunday at the matinee show, and the average age of moviegoer was EASILY 60. I imagine Jujube sales were at an all-time low.
