Bet pass line, take as much odds as they'll allow. Bet come line, take as much odds as they'll allow. Yell when everyone else at the table yells. Repeat.
OR Bet don't pass, lay as much odds as they'll allow. Bet don't come, lay as much odds as they'll allow. Keep your mouth shut when everyone else boos. Repeat. Don't bet anything else, and don't mix do and don't betting. |

John Patrick Advanced Craps, lots of people dont liek him, but if you frequent casinos and want to play real long and be up most of the time hes the best. His 6&8 Strats are amazing, and a lot of his strategies really let you spend time at a table. He also cdedicates an entire section to surveying tables that's real neat too. People will complain he's a wiseass, but whatever.

any book, any internet site...fairly simple game BUT in the heat of the moment it seems like way too much is going on. Honestly the best way to learn is to read a bit and then just play. Keep it simple at first but then you may decide on more action as you learn to keep track of your action.

Re: anyone have a good craps resource for learning? (NC)
I took a dice setting seminar in Vegas. Pretty awesome. I think the guy's name is Heavy and his seminar is called Axis Power craps or something like that. It will swing the odds in your favor in the long run (of course with huge swings in between). It's far from an accurate and exact science. Really, you're just influencing the dice a little bit so that the odds of certain numbers increase or decrease depending on how you set them. It takes a lot of practice but if you find that you're going to be playing A LOT of craps, it's worth it. If you don't want to bother with that, just do pass line with max odds and don't pass (but I say don't lay. Laying odds is a zero sum bet, if it's on the don't and the shooter rolls a point, enjoy the fact that you now have the advantage). One thing you might look for is players around you who are not betting max odds and asking if you can put your money there.

Aside from making money, craps has to be the most fun ever at a good table. High fiving, people throwing chips, free drinks... best atmoshpere

Re: anyone have a good craps resource for learning? (NC)
On the train home from work today one guy was explaining to his friend how to play craps. I couldn't help but listen in it was priceless, some highlights:
-Always play the C & E on the come out roll. It's like protection for the come out roll. With the pass line & the C & E you win on 5 out of 12 #'s. -You put out a bet on the pass line and that's always going to pay even money if it hits. -You can put more money behind the pass line, but I don't know why you'd want to do that. -Throw out a hard 6 or 10 every once in a while. They pay about 6 to 1 or 7 to 1 so you win some money there. |
