Anyway, is that a pretty standard entry fee for a live tourney of that size? Seems kinda steep to me. They paid nine or ten places IIRC, which seems like way too many for a 50-person tournament.

Well if they can sell it out it isn't too steep it is a matter of what people will play. As far as paying too many places they have no idea how to run a poker tournament, there is nobody there that has experience with poker.

Have you ever seen a 20-40 or big bet pot limit at Gold Strike? We had 5 20-40 games today and an 8 handed $300 rotation game (2-7, A-5, Omaha) with a list. I'd love to see many of the Gold Strike dealers hop on that game. If 8 people walk in the door and want to play a pink chip game, we'll open it. I've never seen a situation come up where a game is requested and we say no. We spread what people ask to play.

You have pink in the poker cage? How long would it take to round up enough pink to really get the game going?

Seriously, I think you guys should use pink for the 10/20. That would totally rule.

It would take 5 minutes to walk to the main cage and buy the pink for the poker bank. As far as pink for the 10-20? Why use more chips when less will do? I know it makes the pots look bigger and therefore psycologicly you get bigger pots but I can't think of any advantage from the casino perspective. I'd hate to be the one to have to carry a $3000 bank to the game in pink. Some of the 20-40 games I've played in Vegas even use $10 chips. Less is more.
