Default Quick Chip Distribution Question

Hey guys-
I'm planning on a 2 sets of 500 chips with 6 colors that can be combined if necessary. I'll probably use the sets mainly for tournaments, but probably some cash games too. What kind of color distribution do you think would be best? I'm getting Nexgens and some labels and I'll definitely post pics when they're done. (I figure that would be a little incentive to help me out.)

It all depends on what kind of cash game your running small medium or large stake. I personal would never get more than four different colors RED GREEN BLACK PURPLE for tournaments. It slows down the game to have to chip up later in the rounds when the smaller denominations are no longer needed. I have a 1200 pcs set 500red-$5 400Green-$25 250black-$100 50purple-$500 This works out perfect for throwing 30 man tourneys($1000-$1500). When we play cash games its usually a nickle 25cent game so we just use the $5 and $25 chips . You could use the $100 chips for dollars and so on. Hope this helps. PS if you get your labels printed by someone else try using Jason who frequents this site.

This is from memory, it might give you some ideas. I don't like mixing tournament and cash sets if possible.

plenty of rebuys and an addon, 10 person tournament, 2500 starting stack:
160 green 25
160 black 100
100 purple 500
60 yellow 1000

Cash game, 8-10ppl .25 to $1 BB NLHE:
120 -whatever- 25c
280 blue/white $1
100 red $5

if you don't use quarters, get 200 red and 300 blue/white
