Default KK OOP - $400 NL 6 max - Turn **** up?

Villain was unremarkable over 3 or so orbits. I had been checkraised our of some flops that I whiffed at.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 4 handed) converter

Button ($646.50)
SB ($290.20)
Hero ($292)
UTG ($184.50)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $2.
1 fold, Button calls $4, SB (poster) completes, Hero raises to $12, Button folds, SB calls $12.

Flop: ($36) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets $30, Hero raises to $70, SB calls $40.

Turn: ($176) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($176) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)

Bigger raise preflop-- this makes the hand MUCH easier because you can eliminate 9x from his holdings if you raised more than 3x preflop. Such a small preflop raise means 98s, 9Ts,79s, J9s, maybe even Q9s are all very possible holdings.

Although his flop play would certainly indicate a 9, I'm still having trouble giving him credit for it.

I think you need to raise the flop more. 100 or so would seem appropriate. Let TT know he's beat.

River is a tough spot. I may make a crying call, but then again, I see bluffs in my sleep, because I'm by nature a calling station.

I think this is marginal, but I think it is a call.

i'd raise preflop to $16

i'd raise the flop to $100

i like the turn check

call the river against most players. if he's extra tight, i think the river is a safe fold, but i'd feel better about folding if i had raised the flop to $100...

besides the smallish pre flop raise, i like the hand a lot, the $70 raise i like for pot control purposes and i think a river call is a must, thats why you checked the turn right?

the only other way i'd play it is if you think there's a chance he's got the 9, bet $100 on the turn and fold to a raise

Why on earth would you want to "let TT know that hes beat" ?

I pretty much agree with Jazza. I would have bet the turn (~2/3 pot). If he comes over the top, you probably have to give him credit for the 9 and fold.

As you played it I would have to call the river bet and hope for the best.

I called a villain showed T9s.

I agree preflop I should have bumped it more, that would have probably made the hand play out more easily.
