Default What to play: the Foxwoods or the Pokerstars $500 NL event

In a very rare occurence, there will be two different $500 NLHE that I could play in this coming Sunday. The Pokerstars $500+30 or the Foxwoods New England Poker Classic $500+65.

Which would you play and why?

I would play the live event at Foxwoods. I like live tournies better than on-line tournies.

Of course it is a lot easier to stay at home and play on the computer and not have to worry about the traffic and the busy poker room.

If I could play poker this Sunday, I would be at Foxwoods. But that's because I think my EV is higher in a live event, and also because it's more fun. Additionally, since I live only 6 miles away, frequently when I bust out of Foxwoods there will still be plenty of time to go home and enter the PokerStars event which starts over 6 hours later than FW.

I'd rather see you in the Pokerstars tourney just to have someone in it to root for.

Thanks, but you won't see me in either of them. I'll be entertaining my parents, who are in from Washington state for a week.

I got off work on Thursday and Friday next week, and will play in the last two events at Foxwoods.

I've never played on-line NL tournaments becasue I hear too many All-In disconnect abuse stories at a critical moment late in the game. For this reason, I would play the live tourney. But as a side note, how concerned are you guys about this kind of abuse when playong on-line?

I mostly play on Pokerstars. On Pokerstars, if you disconnect, you fold, so the all-in abuse isn't a problem. On the final table, extra time will be allotted (and the tournament clock will be stopped) to allow disconnected players to disconnect.

PartyPoker allows 1 "all-in" disconnect/tournament. I like to think that people see this as protection rather than a resource, but I don't really know. In any case, with just one, potential for abuse is limited...
